jet lag and surprises

Hello, friends (if anyone's still reading!)

I have LOTS of stories to tell, but not enough energy to tell them. Please know they will be forthcoming shortly. 'long with some pretty fun pictures.

The travel was exhausting after a (partly overnight, but very little sleep) 14-hour train ride, barely making it onto the plane from Kiev to London, being forcibly kicked off my flight despite the fact that I was leading 11 students, fighting with the dear man at British Airways, catching up with my group 9 hours and a thousand bucks later[one of the students had dropped out of the trip due to medical reasons, and my ticket had been canceled instead of hers!] and sitting in a plane that went nowhere for 6 hours for a one hour and 10 minute flight.

But in catching up with my fam today, I learned that my brother's daughter is once again living with him until mid August, and that he is getting married on August 12. To a woman he met on myspace and has met a coupla weeks ago. However, I've talked to her on the phone (she seemed very nice!), and my family absolutely loves her. She seems like a great person, and I'm excited to meet her in person.

Family drama never ends.

oh my goodness Amber!! What an insane start of a story! I can't wait to hear the rest of the story about the trip (not only the airport mess, but also the ministry part). Im so sorry about the family drama! I know what you mean though. I just found out that my mom is getting remarried in a few weeks. I didnt know she was dating! She is marrying my dad's best friend. And the attorney general keeps calling our family for my brother because they said he is in a lot of trouble. however, he has skipped the state, and no one knows where he is. But - thats family! Gotta love them anyways! It would be fun to get together when I get home in a few weeks! I left a comment on my blog to respond to you about it all.

Welcome back Amber! Glad to hear that you made it home safely despite all the travel woes. I'm looking foward to your stories about the trip.

Ah, family drama... life would be so boring without it... hope your brother really thinks about what he's getting into and that, no matter what happens, things work out okay.

HI.....I'm just glad it's not meeee this time being the 'family drama'....b/c actually I've turned out alright....GUESS WHAT jeremy shaved his head!!!!!!!! he looks way younger and wow..it's quite hot. But yeah....I regret the whole not going to Malone thing...but I can't turn back around....I GOT A JOB! A REAL ONE! I love it..even though you knew I did b/c we've talked about it. But I guess I'M a prime example of something that everyone thought would be a train wreck to not going so bad at all.
ANd the thing about myspace....It's...not as romantic or sweet or traditional...but it's a loooooot different than other internet 'dating' things...I could go on and on.. but I won't.
