fall is here

it's been a while since i've posted... remember that busy upcoming fall i blogged about in july?
it's here!

i also start my 8th month of pregnancy today. sometimes it feels like i've been pregnant forever - other times it feels like - um, nope, feels like i've been pregnant forEVER!

but in a sense, even after these 8 months, even after puking for months and seeing him on the ultrasound and feeling him do somersaults inside me and preparing the nursery and being thrown a baby shower and attending the labor & delivery classes and thinking about a birth plan... it just doesn't feel real yet. So if all of that doesn't make it feel real, I guess nothing will until he's in our arms.

Morph...

I have never been a morning person.

Ever.

No cheery good mornings, no labored breakfasts (if anything is consumed, it's a quick granola bar or fruit that I can take to the office), no friendly conversations (my husband isn't a morning person either - before 8 a.m. it's pretty much love-you-have-a-good-day-don't-forget-about-xyz-tonight-bye! Then he calls me around 10, by the time we're both pleasantly caffeinated and we have a friendly conversation.

But these days, I can't sleep much past, well, this morning it was 5:15. It's likely a pregnancy thing.

But it's not all bad.

I've been one of the first people to work lately, rather than one of the last.

My day is more productive, earlier.

Now, if only I can start getting to bed before 12:30... .

shopping trip!

We spent labor day laboring in a fun way - shopping!

We went to an outlet mall, where I bought my husband new pants (we had a dryer incidence after Michael left a sharpie in his pocket & we didn't discover it until too late. Actually - he didn't discover it himself - he figured it out when judges laughed him out of the courthouse. It was a bad day!) And I bought a few maternity pieces for Fall. Gotta love the labor day sales!

We then went to Giant Eagle, where we purchased nearly enough gift certificates to Babies R Us to purchase an entire tank of free gas. At Babies R Us --- we bought our crib furniture! Below are photos, just not in the correct colors.

They didn't have a photo of it in black, but the crib we bought is in black, which will look great in our nursery.

Our changing table is also black, but this is the one.

Now we just need a dresser & a recliner or chair & ottoman, but I'll be searching craigslist or garage sales for those.
